Pants in August - Weekly Wrap Up

Hey there. Slightly cooler and much wetter last week. Epic rain on Tuesday helped the late season flowers bloom around town, and around work. Not sure why I wore pants three out of five days this week. It might be that I am actually nearing the end of of round one in my skirt collection. There are only a few left in my closet that haven't appeared on the blog yet. And with those random thoughts onto the clothes.

Two Week Wrap Up - Ugh It's Humid

Hey there. I failed in my blogging last week and I blame the rain. Or really, the humidity that goes along with Summer rain in the desert. While I love the monsoon season, the thunder, the lightning, the downpours! I hate the accompanying humidity. It makes me feel like a piece of cheese that has been left at room temperature for too long, the oil in my skin rises to the surface and everything is sticky and oppressive. It also seems to sap my will to accomplish anything that is not absolutely necessary, which in this case includes writing a blog post.

The results of monsoon rain do make up for the the discomfort that it brings. After a few days of downpours the entire city glows with a sheen of green.

Ocotillo are so full of leaves that the brown stems are almost invisible.

Barrel cactus are fat and happy and growing flowers.

Queen's Wreath explodes with growth, encapsulating the bougainvillea underneath.

And the weeds seem to take over any unclaimed spot overnight.

In looking at our yard on Friday the GH declared: "The yard is doomed. It's never been worse. The crabgrass is happy!"

And now for two weeks worth of outfits.
