80-20 Living: Big Red Hat

Hi. It feels like five days is too long between posts. I'm still trying to get the rhythm of this blogging thing so maybe it is and maybe it's not. I am also debating whether or not to take pictures of going out outfits. I went out twice this week but didn't take pictures, mostly because it was dark and outfit photos with flash look a little off. Still debating this.

The great burgundy hat I wore on April 27 was a Christmas gift from my mom. I told her about it, dropping a very unsubtle hint along the lines of "If you are still looking for Christmas presents, there's this awesome burgundy hat at Cost Plus that I would love". She asked me a few days later to describe the hat again because she had gone to look and thought it wasn't something I would wear because the brim was so large and I normally stick to cloche style hats. I assured her that she was describing the hat I wanted and it appeared under the tree on Christmas. The thing is, she was right about this hat being something different from what I normally wear, and the fact that I waited until April to wear it is the proof. Because the hat is felt, and I live in the desert, it probably won't come back until it cools down in the Fall. But I will make a conscious effort to wear it then because it made me feel kick ass. And anything that fits well and makes me feel kick ass is definitely a keeper. So thanks for the hat Mom, I love it!
