Hi there. I use the word awesome too much. I realized this today when I used it twice in different responses to one Facebook post. As a result of this seeming limitation in my vocabulary I pulled out my handy thesaurus. Now I think that I am need of a newer thesaurus. The one I pulled out does not contain the word awesome. Instead I looked up the word wonderful, which, according to my circa 1985 Roget's Thesaurus, is related to or synonymous with the words in the title of this post. I love the fact that language constantly evolves, even though it occasionally makes me feel old.
I seem to be running behind again in my blogging but I hope to be caught up by next week.
Three frugal things I've done recently:
1. Immediately replaced the sun tea jar that I cracked while putting a free bottle of grapefruit prosecco in the fridge. I could have been even more frugal and searched thrift stores for one instead of buying new at Target, but that would take time and this is prime sun tea season. The GH and I go through a gallon every day or two and by brewing it at home it not only tastes better than anything pre-made, it only costs us pennies a glass.
2. Went for my annual mole check with my Dermatologist. When billed I will pay with my HSA card. This may not seem very frugal but, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Having had a precancerous mole removed at the age of 20 I would much rather catch any potential problems early, when treatment is generally minimally invasive.
3. I brought the cherries that weren't being eaten at home to work, where they were all devoured.
And now on to my outfits from the middle two weeks of July.

Here Comes the Rain Again
And POP goes the lid off the pressure cooker of Tucson. Yes ladies and gentlemen, it rained today!!!
It teased yesterday, clouds rolled in, wind whipped up, thunder was heard in the distance, the air itself carried the scent of it but nothing but a few lonely drops came of it. The only proof today that those drops fell were the outlines in dust on our cars. It started again this afternoon, clouds were building on all sides.
Big fluffy white ones and solid dark gray ones. I spent most of the afternoon in a state of hopeful suspense. If you couldn't tell by now, I love the rain and the first monsoon rain of the year is the best. I was very much hoping to experience it from my front porch. My mom, who had borrowed my car, came by around 6:30 so that I could drop her and her dog off at her house. The minute I opened the door of the car big fat drops began falling from the sky. I managed to get the door shut before the sky opened up in earnest. I hoped I could make it home before it stopped and it poured all the way to my mom's house. It was still pouring on my way back when I got rear-ended in a right hand turn lane. It was pouring in the parking lot that I and the person who hit me pulled into. It was pouring when I looked at my bumper, didn't see any damage and decided to let it go and drove away. It was pouring when I stopped at the store to pick up cream for our coffee tomorrow. It had stopped pouring when I made it back out into the parking lot. I drove home in a drizzle and by the time I put away the cream it had stopped raining. Oh well, there's always next time. Maybe it will rain tomorrow night. If it does I will be on my porch.
Here are three frugal things I've done recently.
1. I used the ingredients I purchased more than a week ago to finally make a quiche. Prevented food wast and made lunch for a couple of days.
2. I brought some gifted homegrown tomatoes and basil and some store bought mozzarella for my sister-in-law when we visited her.
3. I remembered to turn off both fans in my bedroom during the day to save on electricity. I do leave the ceiling fans in the living room on during the day since the animals hang out there.
And now for a short weeks worth of outfits.

Happy 4th of July!
Hi there, no rain yet. When I was growing up I lived by A Mountain, which is where Tucson's annual Independence Day fireworks display is held. My family and I would get up on our roof to watch the fireworks and then, if it was dry enough, my brother and I would stay there when the show was over to watch the mountain burn. It wasn't quite as dramatic as it sounds, the after fireworks blaze was always quickly contained and didn't spread far, but it was fun to watch. This year is definitely dry enough to set the mountain on fire. The pressure cooker that is Tucson is still chugging along, however there is rain in the forecast! Here's hoping it actually happens. I've got a couple of social activities planned for today in addition to regular errand running so I will keep it short.
Three frugal things I did last week.
1. I found a replacement for my ancient shower drain cover at a Dollar store and it fits perfectly.
2. I'm taking bottled Sangria that was left at my house a while ago to a 4th of July party this afternoon. No food waste and no spend!
3. I defrosted the last of the filet mignons that were gifted to us by my Grandpa to make for dinner tonight.
And now for last weeks outfits, I was sick on Tuesday so there are only four days worth.
